LEAGUE COMMISSION

PROGRESS IN TOGOLAND. ( British Official Wlreleci.J Received Oct. 26, 5.5 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 25. A Press message states that the Permanent Mandates Commission ot the League of Nations concluded its sitting with an examination of the administration of Togoland in 1937. Captain C. Linney, representing Britain, gave a long report. The Commission confirmed that the development of Togoland was proceeding in a completely satisfactory manner and noted that the population had made great material progress. Togoland had greatly increased in prosperity as the result of the cultivation of cocoa and cotton. The Commission in particular registered its approval of the useful work carried out by religious bodies, which had opened numerous schools.
