ARABS’ DEMANDS
DECISIONS OF CONGRESS HOME RULE IN PALESTINE WIDESPREAD CONSEQUENCES THREATENED [By Telegraph—Preha Association—Copyright] CAIRO, Oct. 11. The Moslem Congress unanimously passed a resolution demanding a constitutional Home Rule Government for Palestine, the cessation of Jewish immigration, the signature of an AngloArab Treaty and general amnesty for political offenders. It also declared the Balfour Declaration null and void, rejected the division of Palestine, and suggested the creation of a permanent commission in Cairo to see the decisions carried out. The Governments of Arab countries are asked to support the decisions, which are being communicated to London and Geneva. If the decisions are not accepted the Arabs are asked to consider Britons and Jews enemies, entailing widespread consequences. PALESTINE TROUBLE A QUICK DECISION. INTENSIFYING OF ACTIVITY. ' LONDON, Oct. 11. The Jerusalem correspondent of the British United Press says that the Arabs are apparently intensifying their activities in order to force a decisive result in a few weeks. An official Arab spokesman, commenting on the ultimatum sent by the chairman of the Palestine Defence Committee to the head of the Zionist Federation, says: "We thought it fair to warn Dr. Weizmann that he is arousing anti-Jewish feeling where British bayonets will not protect Jews.” He added that the suspension of talks between Dr. Weizmann and the Iraki Foreign Minister. Tawfik aL Suwaidi, was due to the former’s refusal to step Jewish migration to Palestine and to a permanent minority. The General Council of Jews has sent a telegram to Dr. Weizmann saying: "It is a vital misjudgment of the situation to imagine that to deprive Jewry of the right to return to its ancient home will bring peace in Palestine.” A London cable published yesterday; slated that Nabih el Zame, president of the Palestine Defence had sent a telegram to Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Zionist Federation, in terms tantamount to an ultimatum from the Arabs to the Jews:—"Even if you have to be entirely annihilated, the Arabs will not let you install yourselves in Arab Palestine. If Britain resorts to war on your behalf she cannot defend you from the Arab countries of the world.”
