Entries at the weekly stock market at Addington to-day were smaller than last week, but there was a slight improvement in values in the more important sections, namely fat sheep, fat cattle, and fat pigs. There was little change in value in store sheep, except for ewes and lambs, which showed an easing, except for better sorts, of about Is. Good pens of ewes and lambs sold to 16s 3d; medium sorts, 8s to 10s; indifferent, 5? 6d to 7s 6d. Hoggets sold firmly. Best wether, to 16s 4d; medium, 11s; rough, down to 6s; ewe hoggets, 13s 6d to 15s lOd. Best spring lambs eased. Primest sorts were about lid a lb. Fat Sheep.—The entry was larger than last week, comprising about 4750. There was good competition throughout as at last week’s sale. Shorn sheep were in best demand and there was an appreciation of about Is for
best ewes and wethers. Extra prime heavy woolly wethers sold to 36s lOd; prime wethers, 31s 6d to 33s 6d; prime medium, 27s to 30s 6d; light, to 225; extra prime shorn wethers, to 27s lOd; prime, 23s to 25s 6d; prime medium, 21s to 22s 6d; light, to 19s; extra prime woolly ewes, to 26s 7d; prime, 23s to 255; prime medium, 18s 6d to 22s 6d; light, to 15s 6d; best shorn ewes, 20s to 22s lOd; medium, 16s to 18s 6d; light, to 14s 6d. Fat Cattle.—A n entry of 422. The market firmed after the first race and at the end values were up to 20s for better sorts. Heavyweight prime beef sold from 46s to 48s 6d; heifers, to 47s 6d, and cows to 45s per 1001 b. Extra prime steers, to £23 2s 6d; prime, £l7 15s to £2O; prime medium, £l6 5s to £l7 15s; light, to £l2 ss; extra prime heifers, to £l6 17s 6d; prime, £l2 10s to £l4 10s; medium, £lO 10s to £ll 15s; light, to £10; extra prime cows, to £l6 17s 6d; prime, £ll 5s to £l3 10s; medium, £8 10s to £10; light, to £B. The porker entry in the fat pig section was again on the light side and the sale was one of the best this season. A good number of rough and unfinished sorts were readily snapped up. Bacon fatteners generally advanced 2s to 3s. Choppers were in small supply and there was a further hardening of values. Choppers, £3 3s 6d to £5 16s; porkers, 46s 6d to £3 9s 6d: average prices per lb., 8d to BJd. Baconers, £3 10s 6d to £5 17s 6d; average price per lb., 7id to 71d.
