James Newill resembles Nelson Eddy, not only in voice quality but also in appearance and his type of acting. He is supported by Carol Hughes and Lightning, the wonder dog. James Newill will need no introduction as he is already famous as a stage and radio singing star and the producers have taken adventage of this by introducing his rich baritone voice in four stirring song hits. The other picture on the programme, ‘‘Something to Sing About” was produced by Victor Schertzinger the producer of “One Night of Love.” The star of this production is James Cagney, who is seen in the role of a celebrated dancer of the Fred Astaire type. He does two eccentric solo dances, which will have the audiences on the edge of their seats and another in which he is the centre of a dancing trio. He is ably supported by Miss Evelyn Daw, a golden voiced beauty whom Victor Schertzinger considers as Jeanette MacDonald’s chief rival for the honour of being the screen’s leading singing actress.
