CARDINAL INNITZER • UNDER HOUSE ARREST [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright] Received Oct. 10, 6.50 p.m. VIENNA, Oct. 9. Cardinal Innitzer is under house arrest. Secret police occupy the palace. It is disclosed that the assailants, twelve of whom have been arrested, intended to take Cardinal Innitzer’s life. VFTACK ON CARDINAL’S SECRETARY. VIENNA, Oct. 9. Cardinal Innitzer celebrated mass at St. Stephen’s Cathedral under police supervision. His secretary, Dr. Weinbacher, had a narrow escape during yesterday’s attack by assailants who tried to throw him from a window of the palace. He clung to the jagged window frame, severely cutting his hands.
A mob broke into Father Kravanik’s room and threw him into the courtyards, breaking both his legs.
