CAULFIELD CUP FIELD ACCEPTORS FOR SATURDAY Received Oct. 10, 11.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 10. For the Caulfield Cup, to be run on Saturday, St. Constant has been penalised 51b. Royal Chief has been rehandicappea 41b. for the Cantala Stakes and 51b. for the Melbourne Cup, making his weights 9.4 and 9.3 respectively. Floodtide jarred his foreleg while running in the Herbert Power Stakes, but is improving. His trainer hopes that he will be all right for the Caulfield Cup. Pageant jarred a muscle in his hindquarters and is not running in the Caulfield Cup. It is doubtful whether he will race at the Flemington meeting.

New Zealand acceptors for the Caulfield programme on Wednesday will be: Banzonia and Folk Song for the Mona Nursery, Conveyor and Prince Quex for the Moonga Handicap, ana Catalogue and Queen of Song tor the Coongy Handicap. Elanage is amiss and will not be racing this spring. Following is the list of acceptors lot the Caulfield Cup, of £6650; 14 miles. —The Trump 9.6, Avenger 9.3, Spear Chief 9.2, Balkan Prince 8.12, El Golea 8.7, Buzalong 8.6, Manolive 8.6, Footmark 8.4, Marauder 8.0, Aitchengee 7.13, Ena 7.13, St. Constant 7.12, Gay Knight 7.10, Plymouth Hoe 7.8, Ortelle’s Star 7.7, Prince Sion 7.7, Sidcup 7.7, Tuckerbox 7.7, Fort Regal 7.6, Othello 7.6, The K.C. 7.5, Lady Kooringai 7.3, Bachelor King 6.11, Hathersage 6.7. MASTERTON RACING CLUB THE SPRING MEETING PROGRAMME ALTERED The Masterton Racing Club may be congratulated on their decision .to alter the order of running so far as two events on the first day of their spring meeting is concerned. The meeting will be held to-morrow and Thursday.

With only seven acceptors for th' Electric Hack Handicap, with whicl the first-day programme was to close it was obvious that this mile rac would not attract much speculation Therefore the committee decided thal the interests of all concerned wouh be best served by interchanging tic

Electric Hack and the Lansdowne Hack Handicap, the latter a hacksprint with 15 acceptors. Thus the Electric Hack becomes the second race and the Lansdowne Hack will conclude the first day’s programme. The Masterton Club deserves to be well rewarded for its enterprise. Rehandicaps made by Mr. U. Coyle for the Masterton Club’s meeting are: Nursery Handicap.—Nora Gregor, 8.9. Highweight Handicap. Hunting Cat, 11.9. Starting times on Wednesday will be: 12.5, 12.40, 1.20, 2.5, 2.50, 3.35, 4.20, and 5.5 p.m. Beneficial rain fell at Masterton on Friday night, and the course is in excellent order. There has been no further rain since Friday.
