AID TO RECRUITING
TERRITORIAL ASSOCIATION WANGANUI TO FORM ONE “Territorial associations have been a great aid to recruiting in Auckland and the South Island, ” said Mr. J. B. Cotterill, M.P. for Wanganui, in an interview last night. “It is the intention of the military authorities in Wanganui to form one at the earliest opportunity. He said that the purpose of a territorial association was to interest citizens in the welfare of the defence forces and assist territorials enrolled in social activities, sports and matters of that kind. “Territorial associations also take a hand in enrolling recruits,” Mr. Cot- ’ terill added, pointing out that where employers had joined associations the result was most encouraging. The as- • sociations afforded a link between father and son in many cases, and '•ertainly between employer and employee. He hoped that when Captain* J. W. Barry, New Zealand Stall* Corps, area officer of No. 6 Military Area, organised an appeal to form / territorial association in Wanv« n ’’i 4 ’would be well supported.
