Columbia’s little child star, Edith Fellows, proves the surprise of the year as a result of her singing role in "Little Miss Roughneck,” which ii now showing at the Regent Theatre, The youngster’s voice is unbe. lievable. She sings difficult operatic! arias with the ease and poise ot a Metropolitan prima donna, and turns in a splendid all-round performanca that will win the heart of the most] critical observer. Supporting littla Miss Fellows is Leo Carrillo, who] with his usual inimitable performance] would steal the show were it not for the superb work of the child star. Other outstanding performances are contributed by Scott Colton and Jac-J queline Wells, who portray the romantic leads, and the always laugh-! able Margaret Irving. As the storyopens Edith is a stage child you love to hate. To further a chance acquaintance with Miss Wells, Colton, a movie agent, offers to take the entire family to Hollywood and put the youngster in films. Her adventures at Hollywood are nothing short of hilarious. One of the finest comedy teams the screen has seen for years is the star attraction of the new Action Pictures comedy "Wolf's Clothing." on the same programme. Claude Hulbert and Gordon Harker make up the team, and it is the first time these two popular comedians have appeared together in a film. Their partnership, incidentally, has proved so successful that they are likely to play together in future films. "Wolf’s Clothing” is a comedy-drama of the most enthralling and riotous type. Into a gang of the most dangerous criminals the lamblike Claude is sent, and with Gordon Harker as his valet, many hilarious and breath-taking moments ensue. Lilli Palmer takes the leading fomin-' inc role.
