SUDDEN DEATH. 1 Mrs. E. C. Transom, widow of the ’ late Mr. “Joe” Transom, died suddenly at her residence in Kaka Road, Tai- ’ | hape, on Thursday afternoon at about * 3 o’clock. 51 Mr. W. Collins called at the resiJ dence of deceased to collect some food1 stuffs for the Fire Brigade ball when g he heard a thud as though a person 11 were falling to the floor and investi--2! gation showed that Mrs, Transom had 2 collapsed. 5 A doctor was summoned immedi2 ately and pronounced life extinct. Deceased was alone in the house at a the time. An inquest will be held. Mrs. Transom had lived in the Taihape district for the past 28 years, . having arrived here witji her husband < in 1910. She was born in Auckland and received her education in that . city, and later, on the West Coast of 1 the South Island. She married Mr. Josiah Transom, at Woodville, in 1893 and lived in the Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay and Wanganui districts at different times. For the past 22 years she had resided in Taihape, where she was well known and highly respected. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, namely Messrs. J. R. Transom (Taoroa Road), G. M. Transom (Ohotu) and Mrs. J. G. Delaney (Auckland). Her husband died on January 20, 1936. Widespread sympathy will be extended to the family of deceased in their sudden and sad loss. HOCKEY.
