OHAKUNE

BOROUGH COUNCIL EMPLOYS MORE MEN Negotiations having been completed for the commencement of work by the men who have been employed in Hall's block by the Public Works Department, twenty-one of the men concerned started on Monday morning with the Ohakune Borough Council. The total number originally agreed Upon was 40, but owing to certain circumstances, several men were retained by the Public Works Department. The remaining number to complete the full quota, however, will be drawn from the small farms scheme end possibly from other adjoining localities. The men who commenced on Monday morning are of a good type and very keen workers and it is anticipated that the borough will benefit by tea servicer of these men.
