A lecture on ‘‘Examination Technique” was given by Mr. A. G. Barclay, Mr. H. C. Veitch speaking on “Balance Sheets and Depreciation.” The objects and functions of similar societies in other centres were outlined by Messrs. W. M. Cielland and L. S. Dromgoole. The objects of the society are to cultivate an interest in matters pertaining to the accountancy profession and business generally, public sneaking, debating and allied subjects. Outside speakers are to be secured and accountants practising in Wanganui have offered their support. A committee was set up with power to act, Messrs. Cielland and Dromgoole being appointed to represent the New Zealand Society of Accountants. They were elected president and secretary respectively. The next meeting of the society is to be held on August 2, when the constitution to be drafted by the committee will be confirmed and 20minute lectures will be delivered by selected speakers.
