The annual inter-club match with Manutahi was played on the local links on Saturday, Patea winning by 16 games to 3. Results were (Manutahi mentioned first): —Gilbert ano Cornwall won from C. Palmer and Oakley, P. Palmer and Para lost to Horner and McLauchlin,/Naismith and Nelson lost to Carey and Gardiner, Allen and Smart lost to Ivey and Campbell, Denby and Aitcluson lost to Hurley and Luke, Penny and Davies lost to Beauchamp and Broker. Wills lost to Corbett, Gilbert defeated C. Palmer, Cornwall lost to Oakley, P. Palmer lost to Horner, Para lost to McLauchlio, Naismith lost to Carey, Nelson lost to Gardiner, Allen lost to Ivey, Smart lost to Campbell, Denby won from Hurley, Aitchison lost to" Luke, Penny lost to Beauchamp, Davies lost t» Broker. PATEA MIMATI RE RIFLE CLUB A decision was made to carry on as usual at the annual meeting of the Patea Miniature Rifle Club, on Monday, after discussion as to whether the range should be opened. The opening night was fixed for next Tuesday, July 26. The president, Mr. N. R. Coad, commenting on the report and bal-ance-sheet, said that the club had done remarkably well considering the number of setbacks, and he sincerely hoped more members would turn up and keep the club going. A credit balance of £7 3s 9d was shown in the balance-sheet, as compared with a debit balance of £2 16s 3d the previous year. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. N. R. Coad; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. Bales and T. Floyd; secretary, Mr. J. Bates; treasurer, Mr. A. Bond; hon. auditor, Mr. E. F. Hemingway; committee. Messrs. A. Reid. W. Old, Miss M. Coad and E. Willis.
