MEETING Al RANGIWAHIA Miss A. McKenzie presided over a very fair attendance at the July meeting. Mrs. L. Amadio acted as secretary in the absence of Miss B. Sibbin, I who was suffering with ’flu. Arrangements were completed for the drama to be held this evening I (Tuesday), when a good night’s enteri tainment is assured. I It was decided to hold the children’s I ball, as usual, in August, the date this ' year being August 19. I Miss McKenzie extended the congratulations of the institute to Mrs. ! Guthrie on having been elected viceI president of the North Wellington ! Federation Council. I Some fine examples of singlets were i brought for the stall at the Dominion ; Conference. A prepared talk on “Goitre” was road by Mrs. Guthrie. The article showed some remarkable facts of this disease in this country. Members much enjoyed this interesting talk. Members from the Rangiwahia section supplied the item for this month, and, in most humorous attirement, sang a number of choruses, all of which were very much enjoyed. Letters of sympathy are to be sent to two members, Mesdames and Hodge, bo!h of whom are indisposed. The competitions were both well supported, some very handsome entries being displayed in the wool embroidered cushion section The competition winners were:—Cushion: Mrs. J. Fraser 1, Mrs. Hewison 2, Mrs. D.' Wood 3. Jar mixed pickle: Mrs. McMillan 1. Mi's. Jenkins 2, Mrs. Hewison 3. Competitions for August are: —Plate of pastry (Mrs. Barrington’s recipe), prettiest duster bag (made of sugar bag). Members please note alteration in competitions. The cushion held as a competition was won by Mrs. W. G. Deihl.
