COMING OF AGE
GAY BIRTHDAY PARTY The Druids’ Hall, Aramoho, was the scene of a gay birthday party at which Mr. and Mrs. R. Gibbs entertained friends on the occasion of the 21st birthday of their son Robert (“Bert”). The hall was gaily decorated, and the supper-room tables, covered with the proverbial “good things,” flanked the large birthday cake, which was decorated with x miniature surf life-savers’ team in recognition of Bert’s connection with the Castlecliff Surf Club, of which he is secretary. Games and dancing occupied the greater part of the evening. Mr. S. Kendall making a popular M.C. and Mr. J. Johnston providing the dance music per piano-accordion. The toast cf the guest of the evening was eloquently proposed by Mr. M. Johnston and was enthusiastically honoured. Mr. N. Falconer proposed the toast of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gibb, senr. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. A. Garfath, Mr. and Mrs. S. Kendall, Mr. and Mrs. J. Maitland, Mr. and Mrs. Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. M.
