WEBBI [ Per Press Association. i AUCKLAND, June 6. | | A conference of local body representatives and engineers will be held on Wednesday afternoon to discuss I providing more employment for men I out of work. The meeting was sugI gested by the Hon. P. C. Webb, who I said to-dav that he had asked the ■Mayor. Sir Ernest Davis, to convene | ■ a conference. “The Government is determined to make jobs available to every man capable of performing useful work.’’ said the Minister. “The only stipulation is that the work shall be asset-creat-ing. The Government will be pleased i Ir,"assist local bodies to push ahead with whatever schemes they have in I mind, using the Employment PromoItion Fund- for the iniipose.’’
