Evans, fisherman, of Graham’s Beach, was fishing in Manukau Harbour to-day he sav\ an object floating in the water anc when he had retrieved it he found fl was a sack enveloping a bucket, inlc which the body of a month-old Maor. boy child had been jammed. It is understood that accompanying Iht body was a piece of paper with a date written on it, a circumstance which may help the police in theii inquiries. Mr Evans saw something floating over a sandbank where the water u about four feet deep. He started Uk engine of his launch and drew alongside the sack, thinking it was empty but when he hauled n on board ht was astonished to find the body o, the dead child, which apparently had been in the water some time. The spot where he made his discovery is about five or six miles from Onehungt wharf. The distance was covered in as short a time as possible, and as soon as he arrived Mr Evans informed the police of his discovery.
