Both Henry Burton and Tihema I w ere sentenced to nine months’ imI prisonment. Somme Burton was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within ore year. A special condition being that he lake out a prohibition order and altogether abstain from liquor during that term. The three accused were each ordered to pay £1 towards the cost of the prosecution. The charges against the accused were that on February 25, at Napier, they robbed Raymond Walter George Davidson of a sum of £3 8s 9d and at the time of such robbery usee personal violence; that they assaulted Davidson with intent to rob. and assaulted Davidson so as to cause actual bodily harm. They were further charged with assaulting John Henry Cummings, police constable, in the execution of his duty. The three accused pleaded not guilty to all charges.
