QUESTION OF FEMALE LABOUR Received May 26, 10.40 p.m. LONDON, May 26. Engineering employers at yesterday’s conference with the unions, discussed plans for speeding up of the Government’s rearmament programme. It was suggested that women labour might be introduced in certain sections of the arms industry. Mr. Little, president of the Amalgamated Engineer Union, immediately said that the proposals were unacceptable. Othere union representatives declared that they could not commit themselves until their executives considered the proposal.
