These pictures were taken during the combined air and naval exercises by the British Home Fleet. The fleet, returning from Gibraltar, engaged in a convoy exercise. In the Channel it was attacked by aeroplanes and submarines. On the left is an aerial view of H.M.S. Nelson, and on the right planes of a torpedo bomber squadron are seen setting out in the late evening to deliver an attack. The machines are Vickers Vildebeestes.
