Mr Roosevelt was victorious when the House of Representatives passed the revised Wage and Hour Bill by 314 to 97 votes, despite determine', opposition trom the Southern grou.» after their failure to write in geographical wage differentials. The Bill now goes to the Senate, which previously passed the widely-differing measure. The Bill before the House provides for a minimum wage begining at 25 cents an hour for the first year, increasing five-yearly until a minimum of 40 cents is reached. The maximum weekly Jiours are 44 in the first year and 40 thereafter. Virtually* all industries operatin'? mter-State commerce are affected by the provisions of the Bill.
