MISSING INDIAN
SEARCH BY THE POLICE CONCERN FELT FOR SAFETY Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of the Indian storekeeper, Dclu Desai, aged 42, who has been missing from his home at Taharoa, Kawhia, since May 7. Inspector C. W Lopdell, officer in charge of the Hamilton police district, stated on Sun day that as the intensive inquiry anc search made to find the missing man had so far failed to produce results the anxiety felt for Desai's welfare was becoming more acute. “All police districts in New Zealand have been given the missing man's description, while Detectives A. J. While and J. Hayes, of Hamilton, are continuing their inquiries in the Taharoa and neighbouring districts,” added Inspector Lopdell. “Unless the missing man is located withiin a few days, further police probably be drafted to Taharoa to carry out a more intensive search than has been so far possible.”
