INSURGENTS RETREATING MINISTER’S STATEMENT [By Telegraph Prese Association—Copyright! MEXICO CITY, May 23. The Defence Ministry has announced that Hipolito Cedillo, nephew of General Cedillo, was killed with 11 followers in a clash with Government troops. He added that the Federal forces were pursuing the rebels. “We will soon liquidate this situation,’’ he said. “We are granting ample guarantees to the peasants who have been misled and are now returning to their homes.” President Cardenas sent out troops fanwise from San Luis Potosi to stamp out the revolt. He took preliminary steps to call a meeting of the Senate in order to elects a provisional Governor of San Luis Potosi. President Cardenas also called the Governors and Legislatures of all States to declare loyalty to him and he ordered the arrest of Trinidad Alamillo, Secretary-General in San Luis Potosi.
