TWO ISSUES VOTED ON PEEP-O-DAY RIDING AND HOSPITAL i DEAD HEAT IN HOSPITAL ELECTION 'Own Correspondent). SANSON, May 11. So far as the Kiwitea County Council was concerned two issues were decided. The Peep-o-Day Riding voted to decide who should represent it on the council for the ensuing three years, and the county electors voted to find the representative on the Palmerston North Hospital Board. The feature of the voting was a dead-heat recorded in the Hospital > Board election between the sitting representative (Mr L. T. McLean) and Mr J. H. Williamson. This occurred : on a preliminary count and the votes will all be checked again. If a dead- : heat results at the recount the issue will be decided by lot. In the Peep-o-Day Riding election > the sitting councillor (Mr J. Beard) ■ was defeated by Mr A. E. Shannon by . three votes. l Details:— Peep-o-Day Riding, A. E. Shannon 39 4 J.
