WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Wednesday, May 11, 3 p.m. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone now covers the Tasman and New Zealand area, the centre being west of the South Island. Forecast.—Winds: Light to moderate south to east over the North Island, elsewhere variable but a change to northerliec extending gradually from the South to beyond look Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters): Moderate to rather rough north of East Cape and in the f.-r South, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate south-east to north-east winds in the northern portion and north-westerly in the southern with slight to moderate seas. Weather: A few scattered showers probable in the various extremities of the country but weather generally fine. Milder day but cold night temperatures with many frosts. Phases of the Moon for May.—First Quarter, May 7; Full Moon, May 14; Last Quarter, May 23; New Moon May 30.
