George Bancroft and Wynne Gibson have been reunited after five years in the leading role of Columbia's “Saints In Exile,” on the same programme. They made their first appearance together in the memorable “Lady and Gent.” Sharing the leading roles with them in their new Columbia film is Evelyn Venable, supported by Marc Lawrence, George McKay and John GaHaudet. Erie C Kenton directed. “Melody for Two” and “Making Headlines.” Two full-length pictures will ol , presented on Saturday at the Regent Theatre, the first being the latest Jack Holt film “Making Headlines.” Holt gives a virile characterisation in the role of a detective in the production, which is from the Columbia studio*, and others in the cast are Baverly Roberts, as a newspaper reporte”, and Craig Reynolds. Warren and Dunin and Jerome and Scholl. Warner Bros, ate song-writing teams, composed six numbers for “Melody For Two,” the new musical extravaganza featuring James Melton and Patricia Ellis which complete the programme. The theme song, “Melody For Two” anti “September in lhe Rain,” both balla(ls t were composed by Harry Warren ana Al Dubin for Melton to sing in the picture which Louis King is directing. The team of M. K. Jerome and JatK Scholl wrote four numbers for Winifred Shaw and Patricia Ellis to introduce. Miss Shaw sings “Jose O’Neill, lhe Cuban Heel,” a swing rhumba; “Dangerous Rhythm.” a rhythm novelty, and “An Excuse for Danc--1 ing,” a swing song. Miss Ellis, in addiI tion to “An Excuse for Dancing.’ ! sings “A Flat in Manhattan” a '.rhythm ballad.
