WAVERLEY BRANCH

The monthly meeting of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Town Board room on Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. Those present were: Mrs Newland (in chair), Mesdames Macfarlane, A. Alexander, A. G. Wallace, O'Reilly, A. Morrison, Dickie, W. Robertson, Hunt, Boyne, J. Johnston, Graves, Misses Elmslie, and Cheyne. Apologies were received from Mesdames Strati chon, Brown and Elmslie. The following emergency committee were elected: Mesdames Dickie, J. J. Johnston and Miss Cheyne. Mrs Macfarlane and Miss Elmslie were re-elected as an advisory committee and Mrs Hunt and Mrs Macfarlane were elected delegates to the provincial council meetings. It was resolved that this branch would not ne requiring any financial assistance to send delegates to the annual conference. It. was resolved that a social afternoon for members be held on Friday, June 3, and that the committee should provide the afternoon tea on that occasion and a charge of 6d he made. Mrs Graves was asked to organise a programme for entertainment on that afternoon. A vote of sympathy was passed to our secretary, Mrs Strauchon, with sincere hopes that she would be better soon.
