NEW EDUCATION FELLOWSHIP

Conferences of the New Education Fellowship were held last year in the four main centres of this country. ' They were a marked success and aroused much interest amongst all as- ’ sociatcd with the various aspects of education. Few who attended the con- ■ feiences were not disturbed from 1 their complacemcnt, educational, lethargy. Many recalled their perennial good intentions to rectify defects in their own particular sphere of education. When the conferences were over the question was whether they would prove to be just, "paving 1 stones” or whether their influence would be sufficient to result in definite action. Already in many parts of New Zealand groups inspired with N.E.F ideals are seeking solutions to educational problems. An opportunity is now being given to all those interested to form here in Wanganui an N.E.F. study group. A preliminary committee has arranged ioi t* meeting for this Wednesday evening in the Technical College. Problems of education are by no means confined to teachers. If the school aims at helping its pupils to live more fully in society both now and in the future, then education is ' as broad as life and so makes contact with the many institutions or society —the family, the church, the factory, the school. Representatives of these are very cordially invited to contribute to the work of the proposed N.E.F. Group.
