RUGBY REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION | 'Hie annual meeting of the Taihapc Rugby Referees’ Association was held on Friday evening, when there were present Messrs F. Ward (chair), J. Graham (secretary), C. 11. Transom, T. Hakopa, F. Thomas, A. O. Wimsett, N. J. Finlayson, L. A. Downey, and H. Chase. Apologies for’ absence were received from Mr W. Healey and Mr W. Mako. The following now members were elected: Messrs F. Thomas (from Manawatu R.R. Association), I’. Lloyd, L. A. Downey and N. Mako. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted asi under: Patron, Dr. H. M. Hay (reelected), president and chairman, Mr F. Ward (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Graham (re-elected); committee, Messrs F. Thomas, T. Hakopa, A. O. Wimsctt and C. H. Transom; representative on Rugby Union, Mr C. IL Transom; association nominees on Appointment Board, Messrs F. Ward and L. A. Downey; representative on Wanganui Rugby Referees’ Area Appointment Board, Mi F. Ward. The report and balance-sheet, showing a small credit, were adopted. The secretary advised that despite two requests, the N.Z.R.R. Association was still unable to supply the N.Z.R.F.U. official handbooks, due to such books being out of stock, therefore Taihape members were in the dark as to application of new rules. Application is Io be made to the Taihapc Rugby Union for a grant of £5, and the usual privileges. Mr C. H. Transom referred to the union balance-sheet, showing that the cost of marking out the grounds last season amounted to approximately £B, and pointed out that the 10 yards lines at half-way and also the five yards’ line parallel to the touch lines were not delineated last season, li was resolved to request the Rugby Union to remedy this matter. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
