PERSONAL Mr. and Miss B. Weston are spending the Easter holidays at Waipukurau. Mr. B. Bailey is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. G. Green, Kawhatau, are visiting Auckland for a week or so. Mr. W. L. Willis has returned from a visit spent in Auckland. Mr. lan Dickson, Wanganui, spent the Easter vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dickson. Mrs. P. Wilson, Wanganui, is visiting Mangaweka. NATIONAL PARTY MEETING A very enthusiastic meeting of the women’s section of the National Party was held in the Guide Hall last week. Mrs. McColl, of Taihape, was the speaker and the address she gave was most interesting. It was decided, after hearing the speaker, to form a branch in Mangaweka. Mrs. T. W. Pairsman was elected president and Miss C. Moon secretary. Afternoon tea was served, after which the meeting closed. , HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING The householders’ (school) meeting was held on Wednesday last with a very small attendance, only one family other than the out-going committee being present. The minutes of the last householders’ meeting were read and confirmed, and the report and balance-sheet for the past, two years was adopted. The following were elected as committee for the ensuing two years: Messrs. L. G. P. Mahoney, R. H. Lewis, M. Sutherland, L. Bailey, F. Pedersen. At the conclusion of the householders’ meeting the newly-elected committee met, Mr. M. Sutherland, the retiring chairman, declining nomination as chairman and Mr. L. G. P. Mahoney was duly elected, Mr. R. H. Lewis being re-elected as secretary. Messrs. Pedersen and L. Bailey were appointed as visiting committee for the month. A hearty vote of thanks and appreciation for past services was given to Mr. Sutherland, which was carried with acclamation.
