VELL-KNOWN TARANAKI BREEDER. f Per Piefiß Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, April 19. For many years one of the most successful breeders and racers of horses in Taranaki Mr. Alexander Alexander died at New Plymouth this morning. Many fine horses, which made a name for themselves on the race tracks throughout New Zealand and Australia, came from his stud, his outstanding purchase being Silver Link, bought at. the Auckland yearling sales of 1917 for 80gns. She was the dam of Silvermine, Silver Rule, Chief Link and Whenuakura. Mr. Alexander also took a keen interest in the administrative side of racing, being a committeeman and steward of the Taranaki Jockey Club for 20 years. He was born in Scotland and had lived in New' Zealand for 57 years.
