DUCHESS THEATRE

In far too few pictures has the world’s greatest negro actor and singer, Paul Robeson, appeared. His latest starring vehicle can truly be said to be his greatest—the British Lion-Hammer triumph, “Song of Freedom,” at the Duchess Theatre tonight. A galaxy of stars supports the great actor-singer, including Elisabeth Welch, Esme Percy, Joan Fred Emney, Ronald Simpson, and Jenny Dean. Paul Robeson sings four new songs in this picture. They are “Lonely Road,” “Song of Freedom,” “Sleepy River,” and “Stepping Stones.”
