MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

THE CITIZENS’ LEAGUE The municipal elections are three weeks ahead. Much activity has been in evidence in enrolling the £ voters and it is to be hoped that the fire of enthusiasm will still be burning brightly on polling day. May 11. Two full tickets are being submitted to the electors. Those names appearing on the Citizens’ League ticket are deserving of the votes of all sections of the community. There is a happy blending of youth and experience, civic service and business success. Mr G. H. Trott, the Citizens’ League candidate for the Mayoralty, needs no introduction to those who have followed the deliberations of the present City Council. Possessed of a keen mind and considerable debating ability, Mr Trott’s contributions to the council debates have always been worth while. A past president of the Employers’ Association. Mr Trott is worthy of the unqualified support of the whole business community of Wanganui. The first shot in the campaign will be fired by Mr Trott at to-night’s meeting in the Opera House. All citizens should make a point of attending, so that they may know just what Mr Trott and the Citizens’ I League candidates stand for in muniF cipal affairs
