BOWLING

WANGANUI CENTRE EASTER TOURNAMENT SATURDAY’S RESULTS. For the Easter tournament of the Wanganui Bowling Centre 54 entries were received. All the local clubs are well represented. The outside rinks are from Khandallah (3), West End JL (New Plymouth) 1, Takaro (Palmerston North) (1), Taihape (2), and Waitara (2). The players have been divided into five sections, two of twelve and three of ten. Owing to rain the first three rounds, which should have been played on Friday, were abandoned. In order to save confusion and maintain the order of play as set out in the booklet the first game on Saturday started with the fourth round, the first three being eliminated. With several adjournments to the pavilions to obtain shelter from passing showers, one round and a few heads in another were played. In the early part of the afternoon a regular deluge came down, which completely put an end to any further play for the day. The executive had to rearrange the order of play for to-day, which will now be five rounds of eleven heads. General regret was expressed by bowlers at the adverse weather conditions, especially for the visiting players who have travelled long distances. Post-section play starts to-morrow morning on the Wanganui green. The following are the results of the ▼ one round played on Saturday:— Section A. Tilley 13. Moffatt 16. Bourne 19, v. Denman 15.
