Owing to the heavy rains that have fallen during the past few days, the track at Addington is in a very bad state, and the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club had no option this morning but to postpone the first day of the meeting. The club is not insured, and a heavy financial loss will be entailed. Rain is still falling, blit there is every likelihood of the weather clearing before the week-end. The meeting will now be held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week’
