AUSTRALIAN SCHEME

AGREEMENT WITH B.M.A.

MELBOURNE, April 14. Following a conference between the Federal Treasurer, Mr. R. G. Casey, Commonwealth officers, and the Federal Council of the British Medical Association, it has been agreed that doctors shall be paid Ils a year for each insured person who is entitled to medical benefits in the projected national health isnurance plan. The service to be provided under the national plan will be for insured persons only, and not their dependants. It will be a ‘‘general practitioner” service, and will exclude confinements and major operations.
