SALE AT WAIPUKURAU

CULLUS CHANGES HANDS. Considerable interest was shown in the sale of thoroughbred horses offered on account of Miss Grace Twist, of Taradale, at the Waipukurau saleyards on Tuesday. There was a very large attendance present, and the values realised were very satisfactory. Prices ranged to 40gns., which was secured for Cullus, a well-known performer over six furlongs, and also for an unnamed gelding by Cockpit. The realisations were as under:— An unnamed 6-year gelding by Lucullus—Prosy < full brother to Prosy Boy), —l5 gns., Murray, Roberts and Co., Hastings. An unnamed 4-year gelding by Cockpit—Fairy Mark (half-brother to Lucullus Lad and Cullus). —40gns., W. J. Bennett, Omakere. An unnamed 4-year gelding by Cockpit—Blue Mist.—l6gns„ R. R. .Williams, Mangatainoke.

An unnamed 5-year mare by Mercian King—Blue Mist.—2sgns., Mrs W. K. Turnbull, Ongaonga. Cullus, 1 aged 7 years, by Lucullus— Fairy Mark (full brother to Lucullus Lad).—4ogns., C. Hart. Te Aute.
