STATION OWNER’S DEATH

Following a fall down a slope while mustering, George Leslie Rutherford, owner of Macdonald Downs Station, died in hospital. He was regarded as an outstanding sheep farmer and owned a number of gallopers, including the New Zealand Cup winner Royal Star.
