WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

WAVEKLEY MEETING The Kohi Women's Institute held its April meeting in the garden of Mrs. Sheldon Hones’ home. There was an excellent attendance of members and visitors.

After singing the National Anthem the president, Mrs. W. Morrison, extended a welcome to all present. It was decided to hold the birthday party on Thursday, May 19.

Mrs. Shanks, of Wanganui, gave a demonstration on coral work. During the afternoon two interesting competitions were played. The first everybody roamed through the shrubbery and wrote down the names of native shrubs they knew. Miss P. Oliver proved the winner. Mrs. R. Oliver proved the winner of the nursery rhyme competition. The best satin cushion resulted in a win for Mrs. R. Harden.
