GOOD DEMAND FOR LAMB The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week: The market for wethers is quiet and unchanged. There is a moderate demand for ewes. There is a good demand for Lambs. The market is well supplied with chilled beef. Wethers, light, 5d to 53d a lb; heavy, 33d to 4ld. Ewes, 25-8 d to 4 l-Bd. Lambs, 2’s, 7 l-8d to 7 2-8 d; B’s, 7 l-8d to 71d; 4’s, 6 7-8 d to 7d; seconds, 7d to 7 l-Bd. Chilled beef, hinds. 4id to s<d., fores, 33d to 4d. RET All. PRICES IN LONDON The New Zealand Meat Producers* Board has been advised by its London office that the following retail prices were being quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London during March, 1938. These prices represent a fair average of the prices quoted by the better class shops in London for the best quality of New Zealand lamb and mutton: — Per lb. New Zealand lamb— d.
