RAILWAY DISASTER
TWENTY-THREE KILLED IN SOUTH AFRICA Received April 5, 10.50 p.m. CAPETOWN, April 5. Twenty-three were killed and many injured in night-time head-on collision between passenger and goods trains south of Plumtree on the main Bulawayo-Johannesburg line. The drivers and the firemen of both engines were killed. Rescue work was hampered by a fierce storm and the absence of lights. The goods train included three trucks of dynamite which fortunately did not explode.
