Personal Talks Urged Between Differing Faiths
LONDON—The need for personal discussions among members of different religions was emphasized by Sir Ronald Storrs, former Governor of Jerusalem, at a reunion of the members and friends of the World Congress of Faiths recently held at the Royal Empire Society in London. The best possibility of the world religions coming together, Sir Ronald said, was not through studying then, in books, because out of books the inquirer only received a "dry and dusty answer.” It was necessary rather to come into touch with those who personally profess other faiths. Referring to Palestine, Sir Ronald’s dosing words wore: "May 1 leave with you the words of the Psalmist: 'O pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love thee. . . ” Sir Francis Younghusband presided and the Very Rev. Father Thoma of the St. Thomas Christian Community, Southern India, also spoke.
