CHARMING IRISES

The charming Spanish iris, which flowers in early summer, should be grown in every garden. They demand the simplest possible management and thrive in ordinary’ soil in a sunny place. Plant the bulbs no*. in early autumn, setting them three inches deep and about four inches apart. The Dutch iris are very similar but bear larger flowers. English bulbous iris, which at midsummer yields blooms in shades o. rose, lavender and mauve, is very showy and just as easily managed as the other species. The bulbs are rather larger and should therefore be planted a little deeper.
