“Your Song”

(Written for our page by “Ixiughing WATERLADY,” M.W.L.) A song. It filled the evening air With tenderness and passion, too; A lilting, lovely little song, It brought the thought of you. I trembled as a t.haken leaf Is stirred and torn by playful winds, The scar long hidden in my heart Pressed, rose again within. I fled into the night Where my fevered soul could find some case; The melody of your singing, dear, Was hidden ’neath the kindly trees. Your kiss . I felt the evening air That lingered here, so blue, so sweet, The boon of scented breezes near Lay their caresses at my feet. My tears. Misted lashes dimmed my eyes, But, my singer, what care you? ’Tis only that I can’t forget— Songs bring memories of you.
