APPRECIATION EXPRESSED Valuable work was done by th# Wanganui St. John Free Ambulance in the recent Ratana rail smash. At the annual meeting of the society held X last evening two letters were received [J expressing appreciation of the ambu-'* lance’s efforts in the disaster. The first, which was from Dr. G. J. Adams, was as follows: “Just a line to convey my per-

sonal admiration for, and appreciation of, the work done by your men at the recent railway smash at Ratana. As one who was present, and is in a position to judge, I can say without fear of contradiction that no better work has ever been done than they did under the most difficult conditions. It would be impossible to single out any one of their number; they all worked like Trojans and without a murmur, and had the injured handled and evacuated to hospital with the utmost possible care and expedition. I am sure I merely utter the feelings ot all who were present to see them. (Signed) GEORGE J. ADAMb.” Department’s Appreciation. “I have to express the depart ment's appreciation of the \ tious way in which those connected ? \vith the motor - ambulances 1. landled the difficult situation d irose in connection with the n unate railway accident at Ratany T y n the 26th. instant. V. (Signed) “D. St. GEORGE, ’ District Traffic Manager.’*
