WOMEN’S INSTITUTE A committee meeting of the Bulls Women’s Institute was held in Clifton Hall on Wednesday, when the election of officers resulted:—President, Mrs. Huddleston; vice-pre-sidents. Mrs. Hendry and Miss Broughton; hon. secretary. Mrs. Smart; hon. treasurer, Mrs. Jackson; 'Press correspondent, Mrs. J. Stewirt; pianiste, Mrs. Ross. Owing to the dryness of the sea;on and the scarcity of flowers, the oilowing competitions have been « "Added to the flower show, to be held on April 11:—Thrift article, plain scones (3), pikelets (3), and plain jam sponge. The points prize for the month is for a sultana cake. SPORTS CLUB BALL The Bulls-Ohakea Sports Club ball Irew a good attendance on Wednesiay night, and provided a most enioyaole affair. The music supplied by W. Larkin’s seven instrumentalists was first-class, and the hard-working secretary and members of the committees are to be commended on the smooth running of the function. The supper provided was very good, and Mrs. J. H. Ellery, and her assistants certainly worked hard to make the ball a success. Competitions were won by Messrs. C. C. Price and J. W. Bending. The object of the ball was to raise funds for flood-lighting the sports ground for evening sports meetings, and those who made donations in cash and in supper requirements are to be heartily thanked. Ir PERSONAL Mr. and Mrs. H. Last-Harris left yesterday by car on a tour of the Hawke's Bay and Auckland Provinces. The Misses Wilson, of "Lethenty,” leave next week on a trip to England.
