The formation of a Royal Life-sav-ing Society branch at Stratford has been proposed as a result of the interest that has been shown in the work. Altogether 21 members of the Stratford Swimming Club, together with pupils of the Stratford Technical High School, have entered for life-saving examinations. Mr. C. R. F. Tilley, ' Stratford, formerly of Wanganui, is the examiner. Nine have entered for the elementary certificate, for proficiency, four for the bronze medallion, two High ' School pupils and one club member for the award of merit, and one for the bar to the bronze medallion. ‘ The examinations are those of the
