TURAKINA

SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS Such good progress has been made in swimming this season by the pupils of the Turakina School that on Tuesday afternoon last sports were held at the river below the bridge on the main road. With the aid of ropes the pool was made suitable for racing and (a programme of twenty-tour events was successfully carried through. The competition in the beginners’ races was very encouraging, the racing water being crowded with this season learners. A large number of spectators enjoyed the contest and by their presence encouraged the teaching staff in their good work.
