'rhe American Federation of Labour has rejected the appeal by the Secretary of the Communist Party in Russia (M. Stalin) to organise labour throughout the world to aid the Soviet in the event of war. The A.F.L. decided that, the “spokesman of the Soviet Union deserves no more support than Herr Hitler or Signor Mussolini.” It was also decided to inform the International Federation of Trade Unions that the A.F.L. will withdraw if the Soviet Unions are admitted to membership.
