RELIEF AT HAND

SOVIET POLAR SCIENTISTS ’PLANE LANDS ON ICEFLOE Received Feb. 17, 9.50 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 17. A 'plane from the former icebreaker Murman landed on the icefloe on which M. Papanin and the members ot his expedition ate stranded, says the Moscow correspondent of the British united Press. The machine afterwards returned to the Murman. The Riga correspondent of The Times says it is hoped to take off the greater part of the valuable equipment as well as the members of the expedition, which is one of the reasons why the men were not taken off by air immediately by the Morman's ’plane.
