REGENT DOUBLE BILL
"THE .MIGHTY TREVE” “KEEP YOUR SEATS, PLEASE" , "The Mighty Treve,” the Universal picture featuring Noah Beery, jun., anil Barnbnr Read, opens on Saturday at the Regent Theatre, together with “Keep Your Seats, Please,” The story, taken from the novel “Treve,” by tlie noted author Albert Payson Terhune, relates the adventure, romance and pittails encountered by a young fellow when he sets out to make his way in the world. After Noah meets Barbara he discovers that her uncle, a sheep owner, is an eccentric person with a cowering fear of dogs. Noah and his dog Treve are ordered off the ranch. Then Barbara gets in some fancy diplomacy and Noah remains with his canine pal, who later saves Uncle’s life. Treve wins a number of prizes at a dog show. The climax of the story is reached when owners of surrounding sheep ranches accuse Treve of being a sheep killer. They are about to execute him when an unexpected development saves the animals. The cast includes in prominent supporting roles Alma Kruger, Samuel S. Hinds and Hobart Cavanaugh. “Keep Your Seats Please,” in which the homely and humorous George Formby appears with Florence Desmond, is an original and fast-moving production. The theme, which is that of an eccentric old lady who leaves her nephew a private letter advising him to buy her dining-room chairs in which she has sewn jewels and bonds worth £90,000, is ingeniously worked out. The nephew has no money with which to purchase the chairs and they are split up and sold all over the city. The ensuing events are full of odd turns and lively happenings.
